Rowing and bench press on a bike
VELOGYM presents the ultimate fitness machine
Why work out indoors when you can do it outside? Why train just your legs when you could use your upper body too? VELOGYM is showing its recumbent bike in our Innovation Gallery – which not only delivers fun riding, but also a full-body workout.
Push pull: the double drive
The young team behind Munich startup VELOGYM has reinvented the bike with their recumbent that they call the “world’s fastest fitness machine.” At the bike festa you can take a closer look (and test) the double drive approach: as usual, the legs are pedalling, but a rowing motion combined with a bench-press-like movement brings your shoulders, chest, back, and arms into the workout too.
That means you're adding strength training to your endurance training – not in a gym, but out in nature! Here's another plus: the combined power output gives you sensational acceleration (fun factor included), while the patent-pending steering mechanism keeps things safe and agile.
Founding brothers Gustav and Wendelin Holz took their idea all the way from first prototype to production-ready design – manufacturing now happens with a specialized partner company in Baden-Württemberg.
You can try the VELOGYM’s full-body training effect yourself on a roller trainer in the Innovation Gallery!
