Motor in a magnesium housing

Panasonic presents its new drive unit and ergonomic remote at bike festa

A Panasonic lightweight with real muscle is on show in the Innovation Gallery. The new GXM drive sits inside a magnesium housing, rides remarkably naturally, and comes paired with the GXM Remote 801, which rethinks connectivity and ergonomics.

GXM 100 Mg: lightweight with muscle

Panasonic is breaking new ground with its housing: the brand’s new flagship drive sits inside a magnesium shell that saves a considerable amount of weight. Despite up to 100 newton-metres of torque, the GXM 100 Mg weighs in at under 2.6 kilograms, making it one of the lightest systems in its class. Performance stays powerful, even on steep climbs and long tours, and the ride feels very natural and smooth.

Ergonomics, reimagined

The matching GXM Remote 801 is a reimagined combination of side display and controller with especially comfortable, intuitive handling. Panasonic designed it so riders never have to lift their hand or thumb off the handlebar while operating it. That means maximum control and a safe ride feel, while every function stays quick and intuitive to reach – including speed, remaining battery capacity, assist level, daily and total mileage, cadence, and remaining range.

Everything connected

The new Panasonic app turns the e-bike into a connected platform: riders can configure their own ride profiles, expand display options, and keep the whole system up to date via over-the-air updates – no workshop visit required.
