On the southern side of the Alps, spring blooms early and autumn ends late. With mild temperatures, Brixen is the ideal place to kick off the cycling season – and of course, to extend it well into autumn, the season of indulgence.
South Tyrol is a land of indulgence – the perfect destination for those with a taste for the good life. Fertile soils, plenty of sunshine, and passionate producers ensure a rich variety of local products. You can enjoy them at farmers’ markets, with a traditional South Tyrolean Marende, or through the creative cuisine of our chefs – always best accompanied by the local wines (with the grapes growing in sight).
Consciously implementing measures to conserve resources and minimise our impact on nature and the environment is a priority for bike festa Südtirol. Our event is a certified GreenEvent and implements targeted measures to achieve these goals.
The destination of Brixen is also certified according to the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), the highest standard in tourism.
As Tyrol’s oldest city and a bishopric, Brixen has a lot to offer from a cultural perspective. Whether it’s history, architecture, art, or simply the unmistakable charm of the old town as you stroll, shop, and relax—there’s something special around almost every corner. On top of that, nature—from Italy’s northernmost vineyards to our local mountain, the Plose—is always just a few meters away.
Thanks to its location on the southern slope of the Alps, Brixen enjoys a particularly mild and pleasant climate. Winters on the Plose are snowy, while the first warm rays of spring sunshine invite residents and visitors alike to spend more time outdoors. In summer, the higher elevations offer pleasantly cool temperatures, while the long and colorful fall extends the season of enjoyment and relaxation.

Brixen is ideal for biking: On the one hand, the bike paths in the city itself are well-developed; on the other hand, Brixen is located along the Valley Bike Path in the Eisack Valley. Mountain bikers, on the other hand, feel right at home in the higher elevations around the city, from sunny vineyards all the way up to the lofty heights of the Plose. Guided tours, the Brixen Bike Park, and a full range of services—from rentals to repairs—are the icing on the cake.

The bike festa Südtirol is a certified GreenEvent, which means we implement measures such as using reusable tableware to reduce waste, sorting waste, and using only local products.
